WAXING & SUGARING
At Plum, we offer professional hair removal services to help you look and feel your best. Whether you're refining your look with a perfectly arched brow, getting rid of underarm ingrowns, or preparing to be beach-ready, our expert estheticians provide gentle, long-lasting results.
Waxing
Our waxing services utilize high-quality, professional-grade hard (non-strip) and soft (strip) wax. We adhere to strict hygiene standards to ensure your comfort and safety during every appointment. Waxing is ideal for quickly removing coarse or thick hair and is suitable for most areas of the body.
Sugaring
Sugaring is a natural, ancient method of hair removal using a simple paste made from sugar, water, and lemon. It’s applied at a lukewarm temperature and gently removes hair in the natural direction of growth, minimizing breakage and irritation. Sugaring is perfect for those with sensitive skin or for areas prone to ingrowns.
What’s the Difference Between Waxing and Sugaring?
Ingredients: Wax contains resins, polymers, and other additives, while sugaring uses an all-natural formula.
Application: Wax is applied warm and removed against the direction of hair growth, while sugaring paste is applied at room temperature and removed in the direction of hair growth.
Skin Sensitivity: Sugaring is generally less irritating and more suitable for sensitive skin types.
Hair Length: Waxing can grab shorter hairs, but sugaring typically requires hair to be about 1/8 inch long for effective removal.
Which should you choose?
Your choice depends on your skin type, hair texture, and personal preferences:
Choose waxing if you need quick, effective hair removal for coarse or stubborn hair and for detailed hair removal, such as brow shaping, ears, or nose.
Opt for sugaring if you have sensitive skin, prefer an all-natural approach, or want to reduce the risk of ingrowns.
Our estheticians are happy to discuss your needs and recommend the best method for you during your consultation.
Important Note:
Intimate waxing and sugaring services are only available for those assigned female at birth.
WARNING:
individuals who use skin-thinning or lightening products, or certain acne medications like Accutane, Retin-A, or similar, are not good candidates for waxing or sugaring. These products can dry and sensitize the skin, potentially leading to skin removal and scarring. If you are taking these medications, consult your dermatologist about the safety of these treatments.
